I explore the style of the street. Fashion can describe what a city is, so I take paintings that stand out and capture that spirit in them.
I am creating a series of watercolour paintings by which my aim is the documentation of the clothing habits of youngsters and reflecting the atmosphere of the given subculture.
This project receives publication mainly on the Internet, on the basis of a weekly expanding data collection and its transformation into paintings. Street fashion and ’blog’ itself as a way of expression are major sources of inspiration for me. I meld the traditional painting genre with the freshest communicational device of our days, the internet. The blog series Art & Style is a collection of portraits that are not only to depict and identify the person but also to create an enduring memory which is claimed faithfully to our present age.
This fashion blog is part of a painting action. It is a continually expanding collection and it’s processing. Street fashion and the blog itself affect me inspiringly, as a form of presentation. I paint people whose appearance is exciting for me. I do not strive for the accurate rendering of the sight, instead, I try to grasp their mood. My paintings are more than portraits; sketches of an age, documenting their artistic value, they stand out with their being powerful. The contemporary role of my works comes forward increased after some years. With the passing of the time their complex semantic content changes. The dress costume descriptions ordered next to the pictures of the depicted young persons report from their everyday fashion, their fashion story significance becomes considerable with this.
So I have been painting 100 pictures in the past two years.
